Summary and additional information: | <- R. Huber and K. O. Stetter; OC 1/4 (Originally deposited as a strain of Thermocrinis ruber, but this strain does not appear to be an authentic sub-culture of strains OC 1/4). Pink filamentous cell masses from a hot spring; USA, Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park. Taxonomy/description (7342, 7416). Hyperthermophilic chemolithoautotrophic hydrogen oxidizer (7342). The 16S rRNA gene sequence of the strain held in the DSMZ is not identical with the sequence AJ005640, which is attributed to the type strain. DSM 23557 replaces this strain as the type strain of Thermocrinis ruber. (Medium 887, 80°C). |
Literature: | 7342, 7416 |
Risk group: | 1 (classification according to German TRBA) |
Restrictions: | Material transfer agreement, Category D Commercial use and transfer to third parties is completely excluded for this strain.
