| Further information: | Mutants blocked in the synthesis of uridine diphosphogalactose are resistant, because they lack phage receptor sites.
This phage is highly specific for and does only attack E. coli K12 (Gal+) and is therefore a useful identification tool for K12 whereas strains B, C or W are not sensitive |
