| Genbank accession numbers: | 16S + 23S partial sequence, intergenic spacer: MN243143.1 |
| Cultivation conditions: | Medium 1593 , 17°C
At the DSMZ, cyanobacterial cultures are usually cultivated without agitation in 25 cm² plastic tissue culture flasks with filter screw caps. To subculture DSM 109255, scrape off the adhering cell material with a plastic Pasteur pipette, then crush it by pipetting up and down several times. Use 1–2 ml of the shredded biomass to inoculate 15 ml of fresh medium in a new tissue culture flask. The light cycle is 16 hours of illumination at 800 lux and an 8-hour dark period. The transfer interval is six weeks.
