Cultivation conditions: | Medium 1592 , 23°C
At the DSMZ, the cyanobacterial cultures are usually cultivated without agitation in 25 cm2 plastic tissue culture flasks with filter screw caps. To subculture DSM 114169 scrape off the adhering cell material with a plastic Pasteur pipette and crush it by pipetting up and down several times. Use 1-2 ml of the shredded biomass to inoculate 15 ml of fresh medium in a new tissue culture flask. Light cycle: 16 hours of illumination at 2000 lux and 8 hours dark period. Transfer interval of 8 weeks.
