Summary and additional information: | <- L. J. Stal, Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ); CCY15150 {2014}. Isolated from microbial mats developing on the North Sea beach of the Dutch barrier island Schiermonnikoog, Station 3 according to Severin, I. et al. 2012. Netherlands. Taxonomy/description (33753). Sequence accession no. whole genome shotgun (WGS): JACSWB000000000. The assignment of DSM104218 to the species Toxifilum mysidocida is preliminary. According to the GGDC webserver (http://ggdc.dsmz.de/), the 16S rRNA gene sequence of 'Leptolyngbya sp. CCY15150' (JACSWB000000000) shows the highest similarity to the 16S of Toxifilum mysidocida MYSIDO1T (KX375342), at 99.71%. In the inferred phylogenetic tree DSM 104218 'Leptolyngbya sp. CCY15150' clearly clustered with Toxifilum mysidocida MYSIDO1T at 100% bootstrap support. 'Leptolyngbya sp. CCY15150' (JACSWB000000000) is therefore most likely a member of the species Toxifilum mysidocida.
. Standing culture (no agitation), lightcycle: 16 hours illumination at 140 lux and 8 hours dark period, transfer interval of 12 weeks
. It cannot be excluded that the strain produces cyanobacterial toxins that can be dangerous to humans and pets
. non-axenic
. (Medium 1677, 23°C) |
