Remarks: | Aeromonas caviae HGB5 had been isolated from hospital effluent in Cumbria, U.K. and mated with E. coli J53-1 to obtain this strain as a transconjugant. Recipient properties are proline and methionine auxotrophy and resistance to nalidixic acid, pFBAOT6 properties are resistances to tetracycline, oxytetracycline and streptomycin, belongs to incompatibility group U. Plasmid pBAOT6 is the first IncU plasmid that was completely sequenced, self-transmissible. Belongs to a group of plasmids with global ubiquity as it is related to broad-host-range environmental plasmids from plant-associated bacteria. |
