Name: | pGEc228 |
DSM No.: | 8820 dsm-8820 dsm8820 dsm 8820 pGEc228 |
History: | <- J. van Beilen, ETH Zürich |
Marker: | Apr |
Remarks: | The alkST sequence has been cloned into the vector pJRD158. The alkS cistron encodes a 99-kDa protein responsible for the activation of the expression of the alkBAC operon, the alkT cistron encodes a 48-kDa protein, required for reconstitution of the Alk phenotype (component of the alkane hydroxylase complex). This subclone carries a 4.9 kb SalI fragment and a functional alkR locus. The plasmid is only selectable with the Ampicillin marker. The cloned alk genes are covered by U.S. patent 5,173,428. For general information see pGEc41. |
