Name: | pGEc48 |
DSM No.: | 8819 dsm-8819 dsm8819 dsm 8819 pGEc48 |
History: | <- J. van Beilen, ETH Zürich |
Mol. weight: | Approx. 9 kb |
Marker: | Tcr |
Remarks: | The alkBFGH genes have been cloned into the PstI site in pBR322. pGEc48 is a subclone of the 16.9 kb EcoRI fragment which contains the alkBAC operon cloned into pLAFR1. The cloned sequence encodes for a 49-kDa peptide, the largest translation product on the alkBAC operon. The strain is not growing with octane, the plasmid is only selectable with the tetracycline marker. The cloned alk genes are covered by U.S. patent 5,173,428. For general information see pGEc41. |
